NZ Team with our silver medals.
The team did extremely well staying with
the Czech republic until the last day. The
Czech's and French have dominated the sport
for the last 10 years. What surprised most
is that we competed and in many sessions
beat the Czech's on the rivers. This was
in part to improving the technique we use
on smaller fish where contact with your
flies increases your strike rate. What surprised
us the most was getting beaten by the Czechs
on our lakes. Overall a great result and
a team that worked well together. Thanks
guys it was fun fishing with you all.

Individual placing 21st overall - Winner
session 5
Day one - Session 1 Waimakariri river -
2nd Place 34 fish
This was a beat I had not fished before.
I knew it was a long beat and wanted to
cover as much of it as possible. There was
certainly alot of fish. Very happy with
the session and a great start to the comp.
Was surprised to be beaten with 34 fish.
The winner caught 37.
Day one - Session 2 Waihou river - 12th
Place 10 Fish
A little dissapointed with the fish numbers.
Dropped a number of fish which cost me vital
points. Light was quite gloomy making visibility
of takes difficult.
Day 2 - Session 3 Lake Otamangakau - 16th
Place 2 fish
This was the worst session for me. The
techniques we developed in practice just
didn't work for me in this session. In the
end I was lucky to pick up the two small
fish in the last 15mins of the session.
Day 2 - Session 4 Lake Rotoaira - 3rd Place
3 Fish
This lake can often be an unknown. A large
body of water. I managed a couple of good
fish early then struggled until right near
the end when I pulled a good fish with 5mins
to go.
Day 3 - Session 5 Whanganui river - 1st
Place 29 Fish
This was definitely a session I will remember
for a long time. I had to cross the river
29 times. The Whanganui is not the smallest
of rivers. I certainly was exhausted at
the end of it.
