Below is a description of just some locations your guide may take you

Tongariro River - At the southern end of lake Taupo this is a world famous fishery attracting vistors from all around the world each year. a large flow of water running over a boulder base.This is believed to be the biggest Number of spawning fish of any river in the world. I specialise in using the local method of nymphing in the river. The river fishes well from June to November when fish are running up the river to spawn. Over the summer there is a great rise in the evenings. The lower reaches offer fishing for browns over the summer. This is a Major Rainbow fishery, browns also spawn up the Tongariro but are usually only found early in the season. Suitable for beginner to expert.

Whanganui and Whakapapa rivers - Both of these rivers other exceptional nymph and dry flyfishing to good sized brown and rainbow trout, best time to fish is from October to June.

Puniu river - Holds good sized rainbows and browns. Over farmland there is good access to alot of fishable water. Dry fly and nymph fishing.

Mangatutu stream - Low banks allow good access and casting room. A shingle base and very clear water. easy to spook fish but great dry fly and nymph fishing.

Mohaka River - A great brown trout fishery. Nymph and dry fly to sited trout.

Waipunga river - This is a small river, Holds good oportunities for those wanting to site fish over the summer in the upper reaches, Cicada patterns work well on hot summer days. suitable only for experienced anglers with good casting ability.

Lake Whakamaru - Fish by boat around the weed beds for lively rainbows and large browns. Best fishing November through March. Great place for a beginner to learn and great fun for those who want to catch a lot of fish. Can be fished by nymph, streamer and most summer days with the dry fly.

Lake Otamangakau - Fish this remarkable lake. Shore line fly fishing. Very large fish in excess of 10Lbs are caught each year. Both rainbow and Brown trout are present, best fishing is January through March.

Whirinaki River - This is a great backcountry river with access to a variety of water.
